From Siberia to Down Under: A Road Long Traveled
Hi my name is Lena and I like to take photos. I was born and in the depths of Siberia in a place so remote that trains don’t run there, and the roads between villages and towns exist only in winter over a few meters of ice. The only way to get to there is, in fact, by air – by small planes and helicopters.
Russia is exciting, weird and fascinating. I definitely miss it a lot and nothing can be as sweet as memories of your home. But I feel blessed that I made it all the way over to this land of sunshine. I enjoy the warmth and captivating beauty of this country!
I started taking photos when I was 6 using my dad’s old film camera, developing them in an old school dark-room. My little sister was my first model and the school halls were my first exhibition walls.
I am absolutely crazy about photography – it makes my heart sing. I use it as a form of art to express myself; to connect and excite my clients; to inspire my fellow photographers; and everyone who takes the time to look at my work.
Lena
P.S. Some good old black & whites from my childhood
